English Dub Review: LINK CLICK “Misplaced Redemption”

Overview

Cheng Xiaoshi relives lost memories and discovers that the past he wants to save is already broken

Our Take

Picking up from the previous episode, “LINK CLICK” delivers another exciting installment filled with intriguing developments, intense confrontations, and long-awaited revelations. Jae Lee finally gets an opportunity to demonstrate the full extent of his abilities, while the shifting dynamics between Xia Fei, Vein, and the others add another layer of intrigue. Meanwhile, the episode continues exploring Cheng Xiaoshi’s past, gradually bringing several previously disconnected events into focus.

The emotional highlights are particularly effective, especially as Cheng Xiaoshi begins confronting some painful memories and the consequences of his forgotten connections. His relationship with Lu Guang takes another heartbreaking turn, providing some much-needed insight into their shared history. Vein also proves to be an increasingly compelling character, with his complicated feelings toward Xia Fei adding depth to an otherwise unpredictable antagonist. The action is equally entertaining, although the occasional chibi expressions and misplaced comedic moments can undermine the seriousness of certain scenes.

Overall, this is another excellent episode that balances character development, action, and mystery while setting the stage for what’s to come. Although some aspects of the storytelling could have been handled more convincingly, the emotional payoff and steadily unfolding mysteries make this a particularly memorable installment. With several questions still lingering and the remaining episodes promising even more revelations, I’m definitely looking forward to seeing how everything unfolds.
