‘Solar Opposites’ Season 6 Set to Stream on Netflix in October 2026

Sci-fi comedy fans are getting another chance to dive into the chaotic world of the Shlorpian family. Netflix has officially set the release date for Season 6 of Solar Opposites, bringing the final chapter of the Hulu original series to its streaming platform on October 13, 2026.

The Netflix Transition and Second Life

Originally premiering on Hulu in May 2020, Solar Opposites—co-created by Rick and Morty alum Justin Roiland and Mike McMahan—built a dedicated fanbase over its six-season run, which officially concluded on Hulu in October 2025.

After Netflix acquired non-exclusive streaming rights for seasons 1 through 5 in the U.S. last year, the show saw a major resurgence in popularity among new viewers. That strong viewership performance prompted Netflix to renew its licensing agreement and bring the final 12-episode sixth season to its platform for U.S. and select international subscribers.

End of an Era for the Shlorpian Crew

Season 6 serves as the definitive final season of the original run on Hulu, featuring returning main voice talent:

  • Dan Stevens as Korvo

  • Thomas Middleditch as Terry

  • Mary Mack as Jesse

  • Sean Giambrone as Yumyulack

The sixth season also boasted a stacked guest-star lineup, including Tiffany Haddish, Kieran Culkin, Christina Hendricks, Ken Marino, Alfred Molina, and Beck Bennett.

Could Solar Opposites Return in the Future?

While Season 6 marked the end of the show’s primary production run on Hulu, creator Mike McMahan hasn’t completely closed the door on the franchise.

Speaking at San Diego Comic-Con, McMahan noted that in the world of animation, project revivals are always a possibility:

“There are a lot more stories to tell… I’ve just seen it happen so many times that things come back in different forms in different places. I would greatly like to do more.”

For now, viewers can stream all six seasons of Solar Opposites on Netflix starting October 13, 2026.
