English Dub Review: Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs “I Don’t Care About That!”

Our Take

Picking up from the previous episode, Trapped in a Dating Sim finally delivers the big showdown this arc has been building toward. Leon faces one of his toughest fights yet, with the transformed mechs bringing some serious firepower to the battlefield. Hertrude’s storyline also takes an emotional turn, while Marie unexpectedly steps up when it matters most. There’s plenty of action and drama packed into this episode, even if not every moment lands perfectly.

Unfortunately, the animation remains the biggest weakness. Some of the battles look cool on paper, but the visuals often fail to give them the weight they deserve, especially during the more emotional moments. Still, the episode gets plenty of mileage out of its characters, with Marie surprisingly becoming one of the standouts. Her blunt approach may be as subtle as a sledgehammer, but sometimes that’s exactly what the situation calls for.

Overall, this was a pretty solid episode that finally brings this long-running conflict toward its conclusion. Leon gets his biggest moment yet, the character drama hits some surprisingly strong notes, and the next episode being the season finale has me curious to see how they wrap everything up. After all this buildup, Leon better make those feelings count because if he fumbles the finale now, even Luxion might need to intervene.
