English Dub Review: The Exiled Heavy Knight Knows How to Game the System “Wandering”

Overview

Elymas and Ruche’s celebration is interrupted by a wandering dungeon boss.

Our Take

Picking up from the previous episode, the latest chapter follows Elymas and Ruche as they continue farming for valuable blades before encountering two injured adventurers. Elymas stays behind to protect them, even calling Ruche “dead weight” to force her to leave. However, he soon finds himself overwhelmed by three Tin Knights and the level 50 Dreamlord Embryo, whose ability to heal its minions and adapt to his attacks puts him in danger.

What I liked most was seeing Elymas’s selfless side, as he willingly put himself in danger to protect others despite being at a major disadvantage. His decision to stay behind was questionable, but it made the ensuing fight surprisingly tense. Thankfully, Ruche returns at the last moment to save him, showing how much their partnership has grown. The action also looked pretty good, while Ruche’s reaction to their massive haul of gold was a fun little highlight.

Overall, this was one of the more enjoyable episodes so far despite the painfully slow pacing and excessive recapping. The idea of monsters adapting instead of simply following predictable game mechanics adds an interesting twist, while Elymas and Ruche remain the strongest part of the series. Hopefully, with Elymas finally pushed to his limit and Ruche back at his side, the next episode gives us more actual action and less recycled footage.
