Our Take

Picking up from the previous episode, The latest installment finally brings Rimuru face-to-face with Chronoa as the situation surrounding her becomes increasingly dangerous. With Luminous struggling to contain the chaos and Granville’s plans escalating, Rimuru quickly realizes that brute force may not be enough to resolve the situation. As more information comes to light, he begins piecing together the connection between Chronoa, Chloe, and Hinata while relying on Raphael to help make sense of everything.

One of the episode’s biggest highlights is seeing Veldora return to the battlefield alongside several familiar faces. His involvement provides some much-needed humor amid the otherwise serious conflict, while the interactions between the various characters help reinforce how much the story has been building toward this confrontation. Tear also finally gets some attention outside of her mask, which is a nice visual touch for longtime fans. The episode does, however, spend a considerable amount of time on dialogue, explanations, and characters strategizing, which makes the action feel less intense than the situation suggests.

Overall, this episode serves primarily as a setup for the confrontation to come, bringing several major characters and plot threads together while giving Rimuru a clearer understanding of what he is dealing with. The animation and sound design remain solid, with Veldora’s involvement providing some entertaining moments, although the battle itself could have used more creativity and impact. Still, the episode leaves enough unanswered questions to make the next chapter something to look forward to.
