English Dub Review: That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime “Lubelius, the Point of Convergence”
Overview
Battles break out when Atsushi and Akutagawa run into each other at a soba shop on a rainy day.
Our Take
Picking up from the previous episode, the proceedings waste no time getting into the action, with Rimuru, Hinata, Diablo, Shion, Leon, and several other familiar faces becoming caught up in the escalating conflict. The pacing is noticeably quicker than usual, with multiple storylines moving forward at once and very little downtime between the major developments. While there is a lot happening, the episode does a good job maintaining a sense of urgency and making the ongoing conflict feel increasingly serious.
The biggest strength here is how many characters get meaningful moments without the episode becoming completely bogged down by exposition. Rimuru is once again forced to balance his usual approach with the growing threats around him, while Diablo and Shion get some particularly entertaining moments. There are also several developments involving other major characters that should make the next episode interesting without feeling like the story is simply treading water. The animation may be somewhat inconsistent, but the action still has plenty of impact, and the sound design helps make the bigger confrontations hit even harder.
Overall, this was a fast-paced and surprisingly eventful episode that moves the story forward while giving several characters their time to shine. It can feel a little crowded with so many things happening at once, but the momentum works in its favor, and there is enough tension and excitement to keep things engaging from beginning to end. Diablo remains a particular highlight, and with the situation becoming increasingly complicated, the episode leaves things in a promising place for what comes next.
