English Dub Review: Reborn as a Vending Machine, I Now Wander the Dungeon “Dreamworld”

Overview

Boxxo has to use every trick in the book to fight the mighty Netherlord. Can he and Lammis save the world?

Our Take

Picking up from the previous episode, the show has finally reached its season finale. The team faces off against the Netherlord, but his powerful barrier proves difficult to overcome until Boxxo gains a new ability that allows him to combine the functions of all his previous vending machine forms. With this transformation, Boxxo can finally communicate properly with Lammis while using his entire arsenal, leading to a ridiculous but entertaining final battle. Even when the Netherlord becomes stronger, Boxxo and Lammis work together to push past his overwhelming power and deliver the finishing blow.

The epic battle itself fully embraces the absurd creativity that made Boxxo’s journey so unique. Seeing his past forms return, alongside the upgraded abilities and over-the-top strategies, made for a memorable conclusion that only a vending machine protagonist could deliver. The emotional moments between Boxxo and Lammis were also a highlight, especially as their bond finally reached an important point. The ending also leaves an interesting glimpse into Boxxo’s future, hinting at new possibilities for him and the group moving forward.

Overall, this was a respectable season finale for a series that could have easily been just a one-note joke. While the pacing and storytelling had some uneven moments throughout the season, the creative use of Boxxo’s abilities, the entertaining cast, and the charm of the world helped make it a genuinely enjoyable isekai experience. With the ending leaving the door open for more adventures, it feels like Boxxo and the gang still have plenty of stories left to tell with its open ending.
