Our Take

Picking up from the previous episode, the story continues to expand on Kirio’s character while balancing the series’ usual absurd comedy with surprisingly heartfelt drama. Manda deserves a lot of credit here, as his genuine attempt to reach out to Kirio shows how much he has grown. Despite the ridiculous circumstances surrounding his transformation and appearance, he proves to be surprisingly perceptive and gives Kirio some much-needed advice. The episode also does a great job showing the emotional weight behind Kirio’s actions and why he struggles to move forward.

Kirio’s backstory adds a deeper layer to his character, revealing that his cold behavior comes from unresolved grief rather than simple bitterness. While it is understandable that losing someone close can leave a lasting impact, the episode highlights how Kirio has become trapped by his sadness and refuses to allow himself to experience happiness again. At the same time, the bond between Aimi and Nami unintentionally reminds him of what he lost, making it even harder for him to move on. The contrast between ridiculous comedy, Manda’s chaotic situation, and the more emotional character moments is surprisingly effective.

Overall, this was one of the stronger episodes so far, successfully blending the series’ over-the-top humor with genuine character development. Manda continues to grow into a much more likable character, while Kirio’s struggles add unexpected depth to the story. Although the episode leaves his journey unresolved, it creates an interesting foundation for where these characters go next, proving that beneath all the insanity, this series has more heart than expected.
