Picking up right where the premiere left off, the latest dubbed installment continues to maintain the same level of quality while giving more insight into Jooheon’s unique advantages as a regressor. Unlike a typical protagonist who has to slowly uncover the mysteries surrounding these relics, Jooheon already understands how tombs work, knows how to avoid traps, and has the knowledge needed to handle these dangerous artifacts. This allows him to stay several steps ahead of everyone else, making his confidence and ruthless approach one of the more entertaining parts of the episode.
The biggest surprise this episode comes from the differences between the English, Korean, and Japanese versions. Upon research, certain character names, nationalities, and locations are changed depending on the version, creating some unusual localization choices that alter the context of certain interactions. The Dub keeps Jooheon’s Korean identity and the original setting intact, while the Japanese subtitles release takes a different approach that leads to some strange substitutions. (I still recommend keeping the subs on with the dub due to the magical text boxes and text Jooheon receives that are essential to the plot.) Beyond that, the episode continues to showcase the rivalry between Jooheon and his opponents, especially as he constantly gets the upper hand. The animation remains solid overall, with some impressive movement and action despite occasional rough CGI and inconsistent visuals. However, the writing itself can be a mixed bag, with moments of clever world-building occasionally interrupted by awkward dialogue or strange character decisions.
Overall, this was another enjoyable step forward that highlights why Jooheon makes for such an entertaining lead. His overwhelming knowledge and ability to manipulate situations create a satisfying power fantasy, even if the adaptation appears to skip some details that helped the original manhwa shine. While newcomers may occasionally find the story a little confusing, the combination of supernatural relics, ancient tombs, and a protagonist who always seems one step ahead makes this a fun continuation that keeps the adventure moving.
