Independent Animation Pioneers Launch “Toon World Express” Exclusively on Tubi
The landscape of independent adult animation is getting a major, chaotic shot of adrenaline.
Animation+ has officially announced the premiere of its original animated comedy series, “Toon World Express,” which is now streaming exclusively on Tubi. The fast-paced, irreverent series marks the debut production from Cartoon Trap House, a brand-new production banner formed by underground animation veterans Marc M (Marc Moceri), David Dore, and Joey Souza.
The launch represents a significant milestone for free ad-supported streaming television (FAST), showcasing a growing industry demand for uncompromised, creator-led adult animation.
From Internet Icons to “Cartoon Trap House”
If you have spent any time following the modern wave of alternative, internet-era animation, the minds behind Toon World Express will be instantly familiar. Co-creator Marc M is highly regarded for his work on Adult Swim’s critically acclaimed breakout hit Smiling Friends, alongside years of building a passionate cult following through influential independent online shorts.
Teaming up with longtime collaborators David Dore and Joey Souza, the trio created Cartoon Trap House as a dedicated engine to champion original projects. Toon World Express serves as the ultimate sandbox for this creative community, blending:
-
Absurdist Comedy: Unpredictable, fast-paced humor that rejects traditional corporate network formulas.
-
Internet-Era Sensibilities: Storytelling shaped by, and built for, the hyper-kinetic culture of modern digital audiences.
-
Community-Driven Collaboration: The series actively features contributions from a wide roster of acclaimed independent animators, writers, and artists who have quietly been shaping the modern animation landscape online.
“We’ve always loved creating the kind of animation that feels a little unpredictable, a little chaotic, and completely creator-driven,” Marc M said of the launch. “This show gave us the opportunity to collaborate with some of our favorite artists and comedians and build something that reflects the community we’ve been part of for years.”
Elevating the Next Generation of Adult Animation
Produced by Animation+ Studios alongside executive producer Niall Madden, the project aligns perfectly with the studio’s core mission: bypassing the traditional gatekeepers to connect indie creators directly with massive, mainstream audiences.
“Toon World Express is exactly the kind of show we built Animation+ Studios to support,” explained Evan Weiss, Co-Founder of Animation+. “Marc, David, and Joey represent a generation of creators who have built passionate audiences by making genuinely original work, and bringing their first series together under Cartoon Trap House felt like a natural opportunity to help elevate something special.”
By partnering with Tubi for an exclusive release, Animation+ is capitalizing on the platform’s massive, young demographic that actively seeks out edgy, alternative comedy that can’t be found on premium cable.
