English Dub Review: Marriagetoxin “The Hitman Hunter”
Overview
Gero takes a job to protect a fellow Master from a man who can go toe-to-toe with the expert assassins.
Our Take
Picking up from the previous episode, Gero finds himself protecting Kimie Arashiyama, the cheerful and eccentric Hamster Master whose admiration for him quickly becomes one of the episode’s highlights. While Kimie’s quirky personality and lovable energy provide plenty of comedy, the situation becomes far more serious with the arrival of Piichi, the infamous Hitman Hunter. What initially appears to be a straightforward clash soon develops into something more complicated as new motives and hidden truths begin to emerge.
The rest of the proceedings begin to shine through the interactions between Gero, Kimie, and Piichi. Kimie’s enthusiasm and unwavering trust in Gero make her an instantly endearing addition to the cast, while Piichi proves to be far more nuanced than his reputation suggests. Their confrontation delivers some exciting action and demonstrates that even Gero has limits when facing an opponent of this caliber. At the same time, the story expands the world of the Masters, revealing more about the conflicts and moral gray areas that exist beneath the surface.
Overall, this is an entertaining and engaging start to a new arc that successfully introduces Kimie while giving Piichi a strong first impression. The combination of humor, action, and character chemistry keeps the episode moving at a brisk pace, while the final developments surrounding Kimie raise the stakes considerably. With Gero now facing a dangerous new challenge, the stage is set for what looks to be one of the series’ most exciting storylines yet.
