English Dub Review: Needy Girl Overdose “London Calling”
Overview
Kache lives an ordinary life, while Michica deviates from the ordinary. Once, the two spent time together in the same space. The words they exchanged in middle school echo. And now, in reality, Kache is living with her freeloader boyfriend. What will Kache, living like an ordinary person, choose?
Our Take
Picking up from the previous episode, we get a storyline that shifts much of its focus onto Kache, exploring her growing frustration with conformity, online judgment, and toxic relationships. Through flashbacks and emotional conversations, the episode paints a clearer picture of her insecurities and how deeply she envies people who seem capable of living freely without caring about others’ expectations. The contrast between Kache’s self-doubt and the confidence projected by internet personalities gives the episode a much more personal and grounded emotional core.
What made this episode stand out was seeing Kache slowly reclaim control of her own identity rather than continue spiraling under other people’s influence. The story handles themes like emotional manipulation, insecurity, and self-worth in a surprisingly raw way, while also showing how online culture can amplify those feelings instead of helping them. At the same time, there’s a growing sense that several characters are heading toward emotional breaking points beneath the surface, especially as the pressure of criticism, validation, and internet fame continues building around them.
Overall, this was one of the stronger episodes so far, thanks to its tighter emotional focus and more coherent storytelling. Kache’s development gave the episode a satisfying sense of progression, while the darker undertones surrounding fame, individuality, and online personas continue pushing the series into increasingly uncomfortable territory. Even while remaining intentionally chaotic and stylized, the episode finally feels like it’s beginning to connect its themes and character arcs in a more meaningful way.
