English Dub Review: Mistress Kanan Is Devilishly Easy “Kanan’s First Time Skipping”

Overview:

After some embarrassing events leave Kanan flustered, Kyougi skips school to take her on a beach date.

Our Take:

One of my favorite running gags so far in this series is the fact that Ami and the teacher at school can’t keep their hands off each other. If you’re eagle-eyed, you will probably spot them together somewhere in every episode since Ami’s introduction. In this episode, they’re in a cabinet together, and I find it funny that while Ami seemed like someone who would hit and quit, but she seems to really enjoy this one particular female teacher.

I’m having a hard time deciding how I feel about this show. Kanan and Kyougi became a couple after one episode, so you’d think there would be progress. But apparently, being a couple means nothing because Kanan still freaks out whenever there’s a chance for intimacy to occur. Whether it’s kissing or something small like holding hands, she loses it. Kyougi has his own blame in this as well. There are times that Kanan summons up her courage to do something and he does something completely different. Kanan thought he wanted to kiss and puckered up but he only wanted to take a selfie with her. Maybe we’ll get something more soon, if not I suppose there’s always Ami.
