English Dub Review: Mistress Kanan Is Devilishly Easy “Kanan and the Saint”

Overview:

Jeanne, a saint, arrives from Heaven to protect Kyougi from devils but proves to be unintentionally seductive.

Our Take:

With a show like this, it was only a matter of time until someone from Heaven’s domain was introduced. If we have devils, it only stands to reason that we will get some angels as well. I’m not gonna lie, as I was watching this episode, I was starting to get some serious High School DxD vibes. The main difference is that Kyougi is a normal guy, and I don’t foresee this becoming a battle story.

Kanan is massively different from Rias Gremory, other than the size of their chest. I couldn’t imagine Rias being as weird about holding hands as Kanan is. Kanan is one of those characters that believes if you hold hands, you might get pregnant.

Our new angel friend, Jeanne, is equally dumb. It felt like she didn’t know what any words meant, but she didn’t know what kissing was, but knew what mating was? This show is a comedy, and it was played up for laughs, but for some reason, it didn’t land for me. I hope Jeanne gets better development as we go along.
