English Dub Review: An Observation Log of My Fiancée Who Calls Herself a Villainess “An Observation Log of a Self-Proclaimed Villainess and First Feelings.”

Overview:

Heronia grows impatient with the fact that the situation isn’t unfolding according to the proper scenario, and her attitude toward Bertia worsens. Since the moment Cecil left to study abroad, the harassment that Bertia faces, presumably spurred by Heronia, escalates by the day.

Our Take:

This is one of those situations where the heroine acts more like a villainess than the actual villainess. Even when she’s trying to be evil, Bertia is nice. I think that’s one of the downfalls of the reincarnation scenario. If a good person gets reincarnated as a historically evil person, could they change things? I’m kind of surprised that there’s not an Oops, I Was Reincarnated as Hitler, What Do I Do Now? Light novel. I know that Petals of Reincarnation has something like that, but you know what I’m talking about. I apologize for that tangent, but now I’m wondering if Westerners can write light novels…

As for Cecil and Bertia, I think that they need to have a heart-to-heart discussion. Bertia doesn’t seem interested in romance at all, and while Cecil doesn’t either, I think he’s having feelings for Bertia, he just doesn’t know it. Bertia, on the other hand, I have no clue about her feelings.

I’m starting to feel bad for Cecil because he cares deeply for Bertia, and seeing her get hurt upsets him. He even “accidentally” threatened Heronia if she continues to terrorize Bertia. At this point, I would like to learn more about Heronia. Interestingly, we don’t know much about these reincarnated people, while I would like to know more, it’s kind of refreshing.
