English Dub Review: Liar Game “Minority Rule”

Overview (Spoilers Below):
Nao frets over her chance of survival as the rules of the Minority Rule game are explained.

Our Take:
Just when Nao thought she had escaped the game, they found a way to pull her back in.  Fortunately for her, Akiyama arrived to give her a hand once again by taking the place of another contestant who made the same mistake as Nao.  Though, to be fair, this is Nao’s first time competing in the Liar Game, so I should give her some slack.  However, even when they’re back together, Nao and Akiyama will still have to keep on their toes, especially since this newest round consists of players asking some yes-or-no questions.  That sounds pretty simple on paper, but it actually takes more than being truthful to win this difficult round.  It’s called the “Minority Rule” for a reason.
With this round, it’s evident that the tournament will feature a variety of conditions in each round, based on lying.  Rather than providing the same game as in the first round for the remaining competition, it offers a different game that allows its “contestants” to rethink their usual strategies.  It not only prevents the series from becoming too repetitive, but it also retains the stakes of avoiding a fate worse than death.  However, it also looks like this minority contest will be the least of Nao’s problems on account of the mysterious Player X, who may become her downfall.
