English Dub Review: Classroom of the Elite “The Subject of the Dragons’ Gaze”

Overview:

With the test approaching, Ayanokoji attracts attention from third-years and Ryuen.

Our Take(Spoilers):

Minor technical thing to discuss. Ryuen was voiced by someone other than Eric Vale in this episode. I haven’t seen any formal announcement or anything. I’m hoping it’s a temporary thing, but I wish there were announcements for things like this. One, so we know if it’s temporary or not, and secondly, so we can give credit to the actor filling in.

As for what’s going on in the story, I have to explain what I’m not convinced by. At the end of the episode, we’re shown Nanase having a discussion about getting Ayanokoji expelled with the principal. This leads us to believe that she’s the white room student sent to take down Ayanokoji. I can’t say why I’m not buying it, but I think this is meant to deceive us. Don’t get me wrong, I think she is going to try to get our boy expelled, but I don’t think she’s the white room student.

There are a lot of moving parts that I don’t understand yet. I want to get to the exam already, so we can get these things revealed for the dummies like me. Sometimes I’m good at figuring stuff out, but this isn’t one of those cases. Let’s get on with it already!
