Disney Unveils Summer Slate: Three Exclusive ‘Simpsons’ Episodes
Disney+ is gearing up for a major summer of animation for the streaming platform and has announced a trio of all-new, exclusive The Simpsons episodes set to debut over the summer.
Coming fresh off the landmark 800th episode milestone of the historic series, these new installments add to Disney+’s expanding library of platform-exclusive Springfield content.
A Summer of Exclusive Simpsons Tales
Rather than standard promotional shorts, this summer’s rollout features full-length narratives and multi-part specials dropping globally between June and August.
-
“Extreme Makeover: Homer Edition” (Premieres June 17, 2026): Kicking off the summer slate, this event is a double-episode blockbuster. Early production details tease a 46-minute runtime structured with 8-minute segments, serving up massive pop-culture mashups and a wrap-around story.
-
“Simpsley” (Premieres July 3, 2026): This full-length episode will shift into parody territory, delivering a Springfield-style take on psychological thrillers, heavily inspired by The Talented Mr. Ripley.
-
“Yellow Mirror” (Premieres August 26, 2026): Closing out the summer is a dark, trippy, and musically driven episode heavily influenced by the sci-fi anthology Black Mirror. The synopsis previews two bizarre tales: one where a defective lamp forces Homer to question what he believes is reality, and another where an AI-powered tablet psychological befriends—and subsequently controls—Maggie. The episode will feature appearances from classic characters like Harlan Dondelinger, young Carl, and young Lenny, alongside guest stars Patti Harrison and Demi Moore.
These upcoming releases join previous Disney+ exclusive standalone episodes, including “Yellow Planet,” “The Past and the Furious,” and “O C’Mon All Ye Faithful.”
