English Dub Review: Rooster Fighter “Built Like a Brick Coop”

When Morio’s efforts fail, the flood approached! Will Keiji and his flock be able to save the city.

In this week’s episode of Rooster Fighter, we continue to see the show challenge common trends in other anime. Friendly demons, a mockery of social vloggers, and while the whole arc of fighting a raging flood that is nearing the obliteration of a small town could be seen as filler for some, I kinda like the side quest nature of the premise that reminds viewers that if you tend to mess with mother nature it tends to mess back with you.
Unfortunately, the side effect of this is the fact that this show is called Rooster Fighter, and there is in fact no roosters fighting anything this week with the exception of a crumbling dam which I’m all for fights against crumbling and aging architecture but I’d rather leave that to the lessening of government bureaucracy and would prefer more vicious cock fighting between roosters and demons.
Overall a decent episode, but with the first half of the season now over I’m hoping Rooster Fighter can get it’s chicken hind quarters in gear and get us some good action sequences that actually progresses the plot as we look down the second half of the season.
