English Dub Review: A Misanthrope Teaches a Class for Demi-Humans “The Misanthrope and the Nigh Future”
Overview:
Final assignments are here yet again, but it’s not only the advanced class that is having trouble with them.
Our Take(Spoilers):
A show getting thirteen episodes instead of the usual twelve is interesting. It made me think that maybe something big would go down in this episode, or sometimes when shows have a longer first season, it leads into a second season. Neither of these things was the case here, as this episode was another business-as-usual type. I also checked to see if a second season had been announced, and thus far, that isn’t the case.
With this episode, we see that everyone who was in Hitoma’s original class has moved on and graduated to becoming human. Tobari is the only one who hasn’t graduated, and I don’t see her moving on anytime soon. The principal himself states that he doesn’t know what the school would do if she weren’t there.
When Hitoma first started teaching at the school, he was asked how he felt about humans. Since the first episode, he has maintained the feeling of not liking them. But it seems that he has moved off that stance at least a little bit. Now his goal is to help Haruna “graduate.” I don’t know what he means by that exactly, and like a lot of anime, I don’t know if we’ll ever get an answer to that question.
