English Dub Review: Hell Mode: The Hardcore Gamer Dominates in Another World With Garbage Balancing “A Summoner’s Potential”
Overview:
Allen’s hunting strategies have paid off, but the fledgling summoner still has a long way to go. Especially when he must now deduce the purpose of his new storage skill.
Our Take:
Allen gets gifted a bottle of liquor for doing so well with his hunting parties. You might be asking why someone would gift a child a bottle of liquor, but let’s be honest, it’s weird that he’s at the hunting party to begin with. He stays back so that he won’t get involved with the fighting, but this also means he doesn’t get any experience points. This leads him to come up with a pretty ingenious idea when he realizes that if he has one of his summons get attacked by the boar, then it counts as him participating. Sure, it’s a little heartless summoning a creature only for it to die, but hey, hate the game, not the player.
Now back to the liquor bottle. Of course, Allen’s dad and Gerda notice it and try to get Allen to give it to them. Allen knew they would do this, but I couldn’t figure out what he was planning to do with it. Turns out he wanted to try to assess the strength level of his dad and Gerda. He did this by saying they could have the liquor by beating him in arm wrestling. Allen managed to beat Gerda, but his dad mopped the floor with him. At least now he knows where he stands.
