English Dub Review: Classroom of the Elite “A Tumultuous Scramble”

Overview:

Students maneuver to find partner groups for the upcoming survival test.

Our Take:

I was happy that the teacher mentioned what was bothering me almost immediately. Yes, we have had this exact situation before, but not to this extent. Not only will all classes be participating, but all grades as well. That leads to just enough changes that I think will make the upcoming arc interesting. You can do similar things, but make it different!

I’m inclined to agree with Horikita when it comes to Ayanokoji and romance. He has no clue, and it’s kind of nice to see that there are some things he’s not good at. For Karuizawa’s case, I hope he figures it out soon. I have no illusions that he has real feelings for her, but who knows, maybe that will change.

My main hope is that we get to the vacation and the island before the end of the season. There was a lot of time in this episode spent focusing on who is going to group up with whom. This season started very strong, but right now it’s feeling like we’re treading water. It feels like the quicker we get to the special exam, the better.
