English Dub Review: Hana-Kimi “Nanba-Senpai?”

Overview:

Dorm 1 plays dirty in the chicken fight against Mizuki’s team. Later, Nanba has a heated exchange with a woman.

Our Take:

I don’t know what Mizuki did to piss so many people off, but it seems like everyone is out for blood when it comes to her. The chicken fight ended up being like the cavalry battle in My Hero Academia, where everyone is holding up one person, and they’re trying to get their headband. But someone elbows Mizuki, and Sano and Nakatsu injure themselves trying to save her.

Whoever is after Mizuki is keeping a secret for now. I wonder who it is and why they’re so angry, but they aren’t the only ones who are angry with Mizuki. When she happens to see Nanba have an issue with his ex-girlfriend, Nanba asks for a hug, which Mizuki gives him. Sano, of course, happens to walk by and see, and then gets jealous and upset. At this point, I really wish that he would let her know that he knows that she’s a girl. I’m not sure what I’m supposed to be rooting for at this point because I know that Mizuki getting with Sano is supposed to be the endgame, but I’m losing interest fast.
