English Dub Review: Fate Strange Fake “The Nightmare Comes with the Dawn of London”

Overview

Clan Calatin has arrived in front of the entrance of the hospital in hopes of executing a rescue mission for Tsubaki. However, before them appears Alcides, along with his giant dog. The police force and Berserker confront Alcides, who is intent on slaying Tsubaki after identifying her as an enemy in this Holy Grail War, and one by one, Servants begin to gather, as if drawn in by the chaos. And thus, the Holy Grail War in Snowfield plunges into a vortex of mayhem.

Our Take

Picking up from the previous episode, the chaos of protecting one child escalates into a spectacle of clashing legends and warped ideals. Jack the Ripper emerges as a terrifying wildcard that’s formless, overwhelming, and far more versatile than expected, while Alcides proves equally monstrous, not only in raw durability but in the shocking abilities nobody else could’ve imagined. The mechanics behind that power remain unclear, yet its implications alone shift the balance of the entire war. Around them, humans are left stunned and hopelessly outmatched, their fear underscoring just how small ordinary forces appear beside mythic heroes and Dead Apostles. Even carefully laid plans crumble instantly, reinforcing how absurdly outclassed most players truly are.

The rest of the proceedings thrives on sharp character contrasts and thematic parallels. Gilgamesh’s tense encounter with Richard the Lionheart carries both humor and gravitas, especially once Enkidu’s name enters the equation, while Richard’s boundless charisma makes him endlessly watchable. Jack’s near-demonic presence against a corrupted Heracles frames the conflict as devil versus fallen hero, and the moral inversions don’t stop there: villains protect innocents, zealots question themselves, and supposed monsters display unexpected clarity. In quieter moments, Sigma and Assassin provide the emotional anchor, their bond built not on contract but shared reflection about faith, purpose, and saving those who cannot save themselves.

Overall, this episode feels like a turning point where spectacle and philosophy collide, delivering relentless action while deepening the ideological core of the war. Power scaling reaches staggering heights, alliances blur in ironic ways, and multiple rivalries ignite at once without spoiling their outcomes. With overwhelming abilities, king-versus-king tension, and the constant reminder that any edge can be stolen in an instant, the series doubles down on its central question: what happens when legends collide without limits?
