English Dub Review: You and I Are Polar Opposites “Episode 7”

Overview:

Yamada and Nishi seem to be growing closer, but why does Suzuki seem to be jealous of Nishi?

Our Take:

For a second there, I thought we were going to see something negative happen in this show. It looked like Suzuki was misinterpreting Nishi’s shyness around Yamada as a sign that she might have a crush on Tani. To Tani’s credit, he noticed and was trying to figure out how to talk about when Suzuki solved the problem in a way only she can. She’s started to realize that Nishi has a crush on Yamada and wants to learn more about her.

I love seeing characters grow, and Nishi might be the best example we’ve seen so far. She’s as shy as a person can be, but she wants to change that. She hasn’t completely solved the issue, but she has made huge leaps. If we can keep up with storylines like this, then I think we got a rom-com hit on our hands. Honestly, watching this and Hana-Kimi on the same day gives me whiplash almost. These two shows could not be more different, and I understand the writing is over twenty years apart, but still.
