English Dub Review: My Hero Academia: Vigilantes “Rain and Clouds”

Koichi encounters Eraser Head, who reminisces about his student days.

Our Take(Spoilers):

I was looking forward to seeing more of Aizawa’s school days. One of the more interesting parts was seeing Midnight back in her schoolgirl days. As hard as it is to believe, the first iteration of her hero uniform was even more revealing than some of her other ones. She basically has two pouches covering her nipples and a belt with a trench coat over it. This led to a fun little callback when we learned of the law that was passed because of her pertaining to how much skin a hero can show while on the job.

One of the best parts of this episode was seeing that Aizawa was as lost as any other student. For some reason, I thought that he always knew what he wanted to do and how he was going to accomplish it. He even managed to piss off one of his classmates by nullifying his quirk during combat practice, but proceeded to do nothing afterward. The student got mad, telling Aizawa that if he’s only going to nullify quirks, it makes the battle boring. I suppose that this younger version of Aizawa hadn’t learned to fight quite as well as he does when we know him.
