English Dub Review: Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End “Other People’s Homes”

Overview:

Stark only asked Fern out as a joke, but the two ended up going on a date.

Our Take(Spoilers):

I don’t like that Stark asked Fern out as a joke, but I think, as far as first dates go, it could have been worse. It’s hard to tell if these two have real feelings for each other, but I’d like to think they do. Fern gets all dressed up for the date while Stark stays in his normal clothes. I hope that we get another date in the future, but before that can happen, they need to survive the dangerous Northern Plateau.

I’m sure Stark wishes he could take back what he said when they reached the Northern Plateau. He thought it was a normal forest until they were suddenly surrounded by multiple dinosaur-looking monsters. What happened next was three days and three nights of blood and gore just to survive. This led to Stark wondering why they didn’t pay for passage to sail around. We got a flashback of Frieren asking Himmel the same thing when they made their journey. Sure, it would have been easier, but people live here, and if they could help make it safer, why shouldn’t they? If you can do good for others, then you should. I like that lesson.
