English Dub Review: Dark Moon: The Blood Altar “Blue Moon – That’s Fate”

Overview (Spoilers Below):
Heli and the boys find themselves in a standoff against Sooha’s childhood friend, who’s revealed to be a powerful vampire in disguise.

Our Take:
Heli and the others’ birthday celebration has just gone from bad to worse.  While the overall party was a success, the aftermath was a different story, as Sooha stumbled upon the boys’ vampiric identities a lot sooner than I expected.  To make matters worse, Sooha’s childhood friend, Chris, arrived at the scene once more in this troubling time.  Of course, to no one’s surprise, Chris is also a vampire seeking to claim Sooha as his eternal bride. I can admit that Chris’s reveal as a vampire was pretty on-the-nose the moment we saw Chris back from the grave.  However, that doesn’t mean the aftermath of this reveal was less enticing.
“Blue Moon – That’s Fate” delivers a thrilling yet brief showdown featuring the vampires and werewolves putting aside their differences to defend Sooha.  But what really carries the episode is its reflection of acceptance and friendship.  Regardless of what might happen to them, the boys were willing to expose themselves to protect Sooha from Chris, especially Solon, given his hybrid transformation.  Of course, the real development worth mentioning is Sooha, who comes to understand that not all vampires are vicious, leading her to accept her new friends’ true identities.  With one chapter of their new friendship closes, another opens with even more questions yet to be revealed, particularly the vampire impersonating Sooha’s childhood friend.
