English Dub Review: You Can’t Be in a Rom-Com with Your Childhood Friends! “Full Bus? Drenched in Rain? Feelings Exposed? Admiring Them? Still Won’t Start a Rom-Com”

Overview:

Eiyu runs into Shio on the bus and then runs into Akari on his way home.

Our Take(Spoilers):

It’s in the tsundere mission statement that to be considered a tsundere, you have to utter the phrase “it’s not like I like him or anything!” We’re only on the second episode, and Akari has already said that. I’ll be honest that I’m not usually into tsunderes, but Akari has endeared herself to me. I have next to no knowledge of how this manga ends, but I think I’m rooting for Akari. We haven’t been introduced to all of the characters yet, but she’s my favorite so far.

This is a cute show, and so far, while there have been annoying misunderstandings, it hasn’t reached the point where it’s too upsetting. Shio is a great character in her own right, and I do like that she seems to have a good friendship with Akari. I was hoping that Akari would be able to admit to Shio that she has feelings for Eiyu, but I guess we’re not there yet. Akari seems confused about her feelings, but I don’t think Shio is, so I don’t know why Shio didn’t say something. But now I have to wonder, given the premise of the show, will all the girls be childhood friends?
