Review: Haha You Clowns “Therapy”

Our Take

His name is Justin and he subs in while the boys’ normal therapist is on a cruise . Things take a turn for the weird when Justin starts unloading his own trauma on the boys which manifests when the boys invite him over for a Thanksgiving dinner featuring meatloaf and burned rolls.

I’m not too crazy about the fact that Adult Swim opted to air a Thanksgiving episode a few weeks after the actual holiday, which seems to be an ongoing problem with the network and has been for a few years, but the fact that such a young series was able to land Justin Theroux as the damn therapist is pretty impressive stuff when you’re only on the penultimate episode of your first season.

Airing on a terrible weekend that has seen two mass shootings and Rob Reiner being killed by his son who definitely looked as though he needed a heaping helping of therapy, Haha You Clowns digs into macho man-hood by showcasing the power of asking for help turning tough holiday seasons. Who knows? Maybe one day you can share a turkey-shaped meatloaf with your therapist one day!
