Overview (Spoilers Below): To save Cheneau, Menoa, and the abducted beauties, Iana confronts Duchess Amaryllis as the brilliant villainess, Iana Magnolia! The Hydrangea unit arrives just in time, but Iana realizes that the captured Duchess is resolved to die and acts to save her. The case is closed. Or, it should have been, but for some reason, Sol is enraged. Has this incident flipped his murderous motivation switch?
Our Take: Leave it to Iana to perform a “courageous” act twice, as if the first time worked exceptionally well. But she does get a few points for her attempts regarding her redemption story, despite the lack of abilities she possesses. Fortunately, Iana won’t have to do much fighting, as the Hydrangea Unit appears to bring the Duchess to justice. However, even though this latest mystery has been solved and Iana’s name has been cleared, that doesn’t mean her problems magically disappeared. As in the previous episodes, this latest resolved predicament left Iana facing even more issues, including Sol’s unusual behavior towards her. However, it’s later revealed that Sol was only concerned about Iana’s reckless actions, further indicating his changed perspective on the former villainess. Given my experiences with these love triangles, it didn’t surprise me that Sol’s feelings towards Iana are continuing to unravel. Unfortunately, that’s the least of Iana’s problems that unfold in this episode, as she uncovers another assassination plot devised by an unknown individual. This individual is also responsible for the death of Amaryllis, despite Iana saving her from poisoning herself with red wine. The latter puts Iana’s strive to change her “Dark History” in doubt, as it appears that Iana’s changes are being course-corrected to the original storyline. Regarding its narrative, this revelation gives Iana a much bigger obstacle to overcome, with her chances of survival becoming slimmer by the hour. Of course, hilarity would still ensue amidst this latest situation, as we’re nearing the season’s closure, even though its eccentric tone may be starting to wear itself thin.
