English Dub Review: Bad Girl “Clothes Change Chaos / The Enemy is Within the Classroom / Welcome to Cafe Scramble!”

Overview:

When Yuu stays after school to do some “birdwatching,” or taking secret candid photos of Atori, she encounters Mizuka!

Our Take:

I always thought that if Yuu and Mizuka could put their jealousy and rivalry aside, they could be best friends. Turns out they both like to take candid photos of Atori, and creepiness aside, that is something they eventually bond over. The term “game recognize game” comes to mind when it comes to these two. They even decided to trade photos, because they each brought something new to the table. Given the show’s structure, I’m not surprised that Mizuka is obsessed with her sister. But when you think about it, there are more people infatuated with Yuu.

In a post-credits scene, we got to see that Suzu is more into Yuu than we might have considered. Kiyoraka likes to see Yuu squirm, which is weird in its own right, but then you have Rura, who is obsessed with Yuu because Yuu is the only person who doesn’t think Rura is the hottest thing in school.

My only issue with this show is that it doesn’t seem to have any major plot threads. I get that it’s a slice-of-life show, but it hasn’t been very clear if all these characters are infatuated with people or if there are actual romantic feelings involved?  We’ll see if something comes up in the latter episodes of the season.
