Overview (Spoilers Below): Satou breaks into the Mythic Armory, chats with the Emperor, and goes to pick up Hime from the Spire.

Our Take: Satou, now with complete confidence, managed to infiltrate the Mythic Armory, though what they found was not what they had expected.  It turns out that these so-called “mythical” artifacts held in the armory were nothing but ordinary objects shrouded in legends by the Emperor.  However, despite the lie, Satou equips himself with a Royal Light Sword that Hime’s father used during his fight with the Abyss.  Of course, Satou would also have to master his magic to combine it with the strength of his chosen weapon.  Essentially, this seemingly risky infiltration didn’t fail, with Satou having a chit-chat with the Emperor that expands on the history and even the characters’ bonds, particularly Satou’s trust in Alabaster. Unfortunately, Satou’s situation has now become the least of his problems, as the mysterious Light Researcher who helped Hime was actually an Abyss Apostle in disguise.  As a result, Hime has found herself corrupted by the Abyss, transforming herself into an Abyss Knight through her jealousy.  So now it looks like Satou would have to confront his own wife to free her from the Abyss’s corruption.  If that’s the case, we could be looking at another piece of character growth worthy of integrating into its fan service.  With the season already heading into its second half, it’s no surprise that the show is aiming to heighten its stakes regarding Satou and Hime’s relationship compared to season one.  Let’s hope that Satou chose the right weapon to overcome what lies ahead.
