English Dub Review: My Hero Academia “The Final Boss!!”

Overview:

Bakugo is back on his feet! Can he rescue All Might from All For One and defeat the villain in battle?

Our Take:

If you’ve been following my reviews of My Hero Academia for a while, you might know that my feelings on Bakugo are complicated. When the story starts, he bullies Deku to the point of telling him that he should kill himself. This is obviously an awful thing to say to someone, but he’s a middle schooler at the time, and I think we all know that middle schoolers will say some messed-up stuff. But we’ve also seen him grow and learn to voice his frustrations a little more than act out. He’s still a hotheaded dick to be sure, but now he’s OUR hotheaded dick.

The thing that impresses me most about the anime version of My Hero Academia is the visuals have been amazing from the first episode. Not only that but I’ve read the manga I know what’s going to happen but the show still manages to get a massive emotional response from me. I would say that over half of the episodes of this have given me goosebumps and I’ve felt tears well up in my eyes. This episode was one of those as well and seeing Bakugo finally announce that he’s Kaa-chan for the world to see shows that Deku and him are true friends.
