LOCKED AND LOADED FOR MORE: Netflix Renews ‘Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Deathwatch’ for Season 2

Following the successful premiere of the first-ever animated adaptation of the acclaimed stealth franchise, Netflix has officially ordered a second season of Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Deathwatch. The quick renewal signals a strong vote of confidence from the streamer in its adult animated series, which brings back legendary spy Sam Fisher for a new generation of espionage.

Season 2 will see the return of the key creative team and voice talent responsible for revitalizing the world of Third Echelon (now Fourth Echelon). Derek Kolstad, the creator of the John Wick franchise, is confirmed to be back as the lead writer and executive producer. Kolstad’s take on Sam Fisher—a grizzled, aging veteran drawn back into the field—has resonated with both long-time fans and new viewers.

Liev Schreiber is also expected to reprise his role as the voice of Sam Fisher, alongside Janet Varney as the voice of Anna “Grim” Grímsdóttir. The decision to renew the show quickly, coming shortly after the Season 1 debut on October 14, 2025, underscores the positive reception for the show’s cinematic 2D/3D animation style and its canon continuation of Fisher’s story.

The first season, Deathwatch, saw a retired Fisher return to active duty to assist a new operative, Zinnia McKenna, in uncovering a sprawling conspiracy linked to the children of his late frenemy, Douglas Shetland.

While plot details for Season 2 are under wraps, the renewal guarantees that the narrative threads involving Fourth Echelon’s struggle to stay relevant in a digitally-driven world will continue. Kolstad has previously stated that the freedom of animation allows the team to explore complex, globe-trotting espionage missions that would be difficult to stage in live-action.

The series is produced by Ubisoft Film & Television, in partnership with the animation studios Sun Creature and Fost. The second season is expected to maintain the same eight-episode count, providing another tight, action-packed narrative that honors the stealth, moral ambiguity, and tactical precision that defined the original video game franchise.

A release window for Season 2 has not yet been announced, but fans can expect production to be underway soon as Sam Fisher prepares to emerge from the shadows once again.
