“It’s Virtually Hilarious”: Comedian Zach Martina Debuts VR Comedy Set in Meta Horizon
The Soapstone Comedy Club in Meta Horizon is set to premiere a unique virtual reality stand-up performance by comedian Zach Martina, offering comedy fans an immersive, front-row experience from the comfort of their homes.
Martina’s set, which was originally filmed at Dr. Grins Comedy Club, is the latest installment in the Soapstone Comedy Presents series, which brings hilarious comedians from across the U.S. together as customized avatars in the virtual club.
The performance premieres on Thursday, October 30th, at 12 pm PT, with replays scheduled to follow.
A Virtual Comedy Experience
The Soapstone Comedy Club, a virtual reality space exclusively located in Meta Horizon, was created by Aaron Sorrels (The Unemployed Alcoholic). It aims to deliver a collaborative and welcoming environment for both seasoned and aspiring comedians. The club has hosted nearly 2,500 events, fostering community and entertainment for a global audience of nearly 1 million users.
The club offers users two distinct virtual settings: a “chill vibe” inspired by Hanalei Bay in Hawaii or a “vibrant urban setting” overlooking the New York City skyline.
Fans who own a Meta Quest headset can RSVP to subscribe to the series. The performance will also be accessible via the web at http://horizon.meta.com and through the Meta Horizon mobile app, making the VR comedy experience widely available.
