The Finish Line Awaits: English Dub Trailer for 100 METERS Released
GKIDS has unveiled the official English dub trailer for the highly anticipated anime film, 100 METERS. Based on the beloved manga Hyakuemu by Uoto, the film is set to bring its high-stakes drama and intense focus on competitive running to North American theaters this October.
The new trailer provides an exciting preview of the film’s English voice cast and highlights the emotional core of the sports drama, focusing on the complex rivalry that defines the story.
100 METERS follows the story of Togashi, a prodigiously gifted track star who wins races without effort. In his youth, he encounters Komiya, a determined but technically flawed transfer student. Togashi’s initial mentorship ignites an obsessive drive in Komiya to win at all costs, setting the two on a collision course that will define their adult lives.
The movie’s central theme explores the weight of the hundred-meter dash—a distance so short yet capable of ruining or defining a life. Dialogue in the trailer hints at this depth: “In this world, there are some who will let the 100 meters ruin their entire lives,” and “The next race represents 25 years of my life.”
English Cast and Creative Team
The English dub features a talented line-up of voice actors, including:
- Joe Zieja as the naturally gifted runner, Togashi.
- Mark Whitten as the determined and later-obsessed rival, Komiya.
The film is directed by Kenji Iwaisawa, known for his unique animation style in the acclaimed film ON-GAKU: Our Sound. The script is penned by Yasuyuki Mutō (Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway, Tokyo Revengers), and the score is composed by Hiroaki Tsutsumi (Jujutsu Kaisen, Dr. Stone). The theme song, “Rashisa,” is performed by the popular Japanese band Official HiGE DANdism.
100 METERS will screen in North American theaters from October 12–14, 2025, with both Japanese original audio with English subtitles and the new English dub available. The film’s theatrical run is distributed by GKIDS.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
