English Dub Review: Flower and Asura “Satisfaction and Unfinished”

Overview:

Shura is an expert storyteller, and her ability to conjure an entire city in her audience’s mind proves that Hana still has a long way to go.

Our Take:

Touga is putting the final touches on the film before the deadline, but something isn’t quite right. He listens to it repeatedly until finally he realizes he’s not happy with the music. It reminds him of a club he was working with previously that cut a lot from something he made, and it changed the whole thing. He wants to redo all of the music, but there’s only one day left until the deadline, so that I can see both sides of the argument. Touga wants it to be perfect, but the rest of the club is worried it won’t be finished in time if he has his way. Mr. Kichijouji offers a compromise where, if it’s not done in time, they turn in the old version, and Touga agrees.

I think we can all relate to wanting something to be perfect. But I was a little disappointed at the beginning of the episode. I thought that Hana and everyone seeing Saionji’s performance was going to be a huge deal. I was hoping that Hana would get to meet her or something because Saionji seems like an important character. It was still an important moment because it showed Hana that there’s always someone better out there, which can be good, but I expected a bit more.
