English Dub Review: Dr Stone – Science Future “Scientist, All Alone”
OVERVIEW (SPOILERS)
Alone in a world without her friends, Suika begins the work to bring them all back.
OUR TAKE
Following up from last time, as I have probably reiterated to death by now, Suika is the only one remaining after the terrible battle that nearly saw all of her friends killed, and with them all petrified by the Medusa, she is now on her own. And REALLY alone this time, now that everything has already happened. This episode is basically just Suika, Suika, and more Suika, as she gathers up all of her friends lifeless statues into a safe place, something that would already be hard enough to do by one person, but now take into account that she is a tiny child and things just feel insurmountable. And yet, nevertheless, Suika persists, now being in the same spot that Senku was at the start of the series, though while she has grown to be quite smart, it’s nowhere near his genius. Luckily, all of this was planned out in advance, and though her gained ingenuity gets her pretty far, it’s finding the formula for Revival Fluid that gives her the last clue she needs. UNluckily, this process apparently ends up taking seven years, as by the end of the episode, she’s finally able to revive at least Senku, and now seems to be nearly as old as the main group (at least biologically, chronologically everyone who was around before the FIRST global petrification is thousands of years old).
Paired with last week, this has got to be one of the top episodes of the series overall, not only showing how much Suika has been changed and has grown from her time in the Kingdom of Science (now literally having grown too), but also acting as an effective aftermath to the bloodiest battle the series has ever had. Plus a little trademark comedy as Suika tries to imagine what her friends would say to her since they can’t speak as living statues. And with that, we only have one more episode in this part of the season, and what better way to kick off the final arc of the show than with a time-skip? Well, not FINAL arc, apparently there’s two small ones left, but we’re most definitely narrowing in on the very end, which is crazy to think about considering this started back in 2019. But yeah, just one episode left for now, so let’s wait and see what the end of this second part brings us next!
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
