English Dub Review: Dekin no Mogura: The Earthbound Mole “True Worth”
Overview (Spoilers Below):
Yaeko’s friend, Mori, describes the psychological abuse he suffered at the hands of the island’s “royal family”.
Our Take:
It’s no secret that royal families always strive to make people’s lives a living hell. The Samejima family is no exception, particularly in terms of turning Mori into an outcast and manipulating people to maintain power. If I were enjoying the series at this point, I would’ve felt bad that Mori had to endure all of that torment at the hands of that despicable president and his family. But since I don’t, I now feel that the family should be kicked off the island immediately so that the series will end already. However, Yuri should be the one to receive a more severe punishment, as she’s responsible for making false accusations against Mori when he first moved to the island. The lies she fabricated led to Mori losing his self-confidence and distancing himself from others.
This is also part of the Simejimas’s plan to feed the merfolk spirit with negative emotions. However, as Magi attempts to protect Mori, Mogura uncovers the realization that the Simejimas and the giant merfolk are one and the same. With the season wrapping up, “True Worth” uncovers more surprises that were less shocking than most regarding its underwhelming direction, yet hopes to utilize them to deliver a seaworthy conclusion. With only two episodes remaining, I can do nothing but hope that is the case. The episode is also the occasion where it starts with a recap of the final few minutes of the previous episode. While it may be fine for those waiting for weekly episodes, it’s also unnecessary for binge-watchers who already know what’s going on. But, at the very least, we got to see more of the red panda spirit’s powers during its attempt to save Mori and Magi from an assumed suicide performed by the merfolk.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
