English Dub Review: Dealing with Mikadono Sisters Is a Breeze “I’ll Make You Swoon”

Overview (Spoilers Below):
Niko wins the battle against Hayato, so she says to Yu, “I’ll grant you any wish”, for doing his best for her.

Our Take:
Niko has achieved victory over Hayato by appreciating both sides of her personality.  Of course, her karate skills also played a role in her matchup against the so-called “champion”.  With a victory as exceptional (and emotional) as this, there’s no doubt that a special reward is soon to follow to celebrate this occasion.  This week’s episode gave us this reward with a “family” outing to a theme park, which Mr. Mikadono accepted because even prodigies need to have fun every once in a while.  However, this harmless and fun day at the park also provided the sisters an opportunity to sweep Yu off his feet with their romantic schemes, as opposed to Yu’s unintentional attempts to swoon them.
Following the usual do-or-die match storyline in the previous two episodes, “I’ll Make You Swoon” continues to expand upon the show’s concept of the sisters’ intimate feelings towards Yu.  Unsurprisingly, their plans led to numerous embarrassing failures due to Yu’s unawareness and fragile personality.  Kazuki’s haunted house endeavor ended with her comforting Yu instead of the other way around, and Miwa wound up caring for him when he fainted from riding the roller coaster.  As for Niko, let’s just say that Yu will be losing their lunch for a while.  In the end, it was the sisters who wound up blushing the most, thanks to Yu’s cuteness, until he finally turned bright red from their gratitude.  This episode not only provided more heartfelt development for the characters through their little break but also delivered some of the biggest laughs I’ve ever had from its rom-com tropes.  Regarding its conclusion, it looks like Miwa will be getting her own arc this time before the season wraps up.
