Overview (Spoilers Below): Momo goes to Okarun’s classroom to tell him about the golden ball spotted in the housing complex and finds him speaking with a curious classmate.

Our Take: It’s hard for me to believe that we’re already at the final arc of the new season.  I guess all the excitement from Evil Eye’s shenanigans must have made the time fly by faster than we anticipated.  It’s saddening that we’re already nearing the end of the second season.  However, that hasn’t stopped us from getting excited about the characters’ latest encounter, which appears to be larger both in scale and in terms of their newest enemy, based on the final arc’s trailer.  Additionally, the new arc introduces us to another ally joining the team, Kinta Sakata, a withdrawn student who shares the same passion towards aliens as Okarun and Momo.  He’s first introduced during one of the season one episodes, with Kinta following the two around school as they were looking for each other. However, he’s also seen as a pervert by other female students due to his social awkwardness and actions.  This is evident when Kinta thinks that Okarun is attracting the girls with his “spicy talk”, including Momo.  But, in reality, Okarun and Momo are actually talking about Okarun’s other missing golden testicle that’s located in an abandoned apartment.  Regarding the topic of social awkwardness and perversive jokes, Kinta’s introduction is one of the occasions that might succeed or fail based on his personality and sense of humor.  Okarun thrives as a character due to his generosity towards others and the innocence that reveals his relatable low self-esteem.  In contrast, Kinta’s social awkwardness arises from his efforts to fit in by following other people’s examples, notably Okarun’s “spicy talk”.  Both characters demonstrate different consequences of low self-esteem in a way that’s both familiar and surprisingly humorous. “The Secret Art of Being Attractive” is another episode that further highlights the show’s ability to introduce its characters through comedic flair and their personalities.  Regarding Kinta’s personality, the show’s director, Amagaeru, and writer Ai Yukimura provided a tight and approachable reflection that expresses the humor of the character’s awkwardness without making him too unapproachable through his actions.  Of course, his role in the final two episodes would be the actual test in how likable Kinta would turn out compared to other characters, especially since they’re now confronting a massive kaiju that’s possessing Okarun’s ball.
