South Park VS White House Continues As We Head To Show’s Second Episode Of It’s 27th Season

South Park and its creators, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, are continuing to prove their relevance by using the show’s platform to push back against the current administration and its agencies. In a recent season premiere that satirized President Saddam Hussein, the show drew a swift response from the White House, which dismissed the series as “irrelevant” and unpopular.

Despite the administration’s claims, the episode went on to break streaming records on Paramount+. The situation took another turn when the Department of Homeland Security’s official Twitter account used images from a South Park promotional video for an ICE recruitment advertisement.

The official South Park Twitter account quickly responded with a “clap-back” tweet, which gained more traction than the original DHS post. This exposed the administration’s conflicting stances, as one agency was using the show’s content for a recruitment ad while the White House had just two weeks earlier labeled the show as “irrelevant.” The incident has led to speculation that an upcoming episode will feature a searing critique of ICE, a prospect that leaves many wondering how the administration will react this time.

The news comes as episode two of South Park’s 27th season debuts on August 6th @ 10 pm ET/PT, in the episode entitled “Got A Nut”,when Mr. Mackay loses his job, he desperately tries to find a new way to make a living.

George Cheeks will be taking over the duties of overseeing South Park after the Skydance/Paramount merger, so that should be fun.
