GKIDS to Release Annecy-Selected English Dubbed Anime ‘100 Meters’ in Theaters

The highly anticipated animated film “100 Meters” is set to hit North American theaters this October, courtesy of producer-distributor GKIDS. The film, which was selected by the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, is a new work from director Kenji Iwaisawa, known for his critically acclaimed independent film, “On-Gaku: Our Sound.”

Based on a manga by Uoto, “100 Meters” tells the story of two rival track stars, Togashi and Komiya. The film’s theatrical run will kick off with an opening in Los Angeles on October 10, followed by a nationwide event release from October 12-14. Fans will have the option to watch the film in a newly produced English dubbed version.

The film’s creative team includes character designer Keisuke Kojima, art director Keikankun Yamaguchi, screenwriter Yasuyuki Muto, and composer Hiroaki Tsutsumi. “100 Meters” marks the second collaboration between GKIDS and Iwaisawa, a partnership that has already proven successful with the release of “On-Gaku: Our Sound.”
