English Dub Review: Witch Watch “Letter From a Friend”

Overview

Morihito/Moi starts cleaning his room, and comes across a letter that Nico wrote to him when they were children. Meanwhile, Nico, Kanshi, Keigo, Miharu, and Nemu, who were visiting, were listening to a story of Nico and Morihito’s childhood days…

Our Take

This time around, we get an episode that takes a softer, more relaxed approach, centering on lighthearted humor and touching character moments. Nico once again finds herself in the spotlight, her earnestness and clumsy use of magic creating both laughs and heartache. Meanwhile, Morihito’s steady presence shows just how much their bond means to him, even if he doesn’t always realize the weight of his own feelings.

Alongside this, Nemu plays an important role, quietly supporting Nico while revealing more about her own emotions. Her interactions bring warmth and balance, adding to the playful but heartfelt atmosphere. The flashbacks themselves further highlight how much Nico and Morihito have meant to each other since childhood, giving greater context to why their relationship feels so layered yet bittersweet…

Overall, this was a charming and quietly emotional episode that leaned more on character growth than spectacle. While the comedy kept things light, the underlying focus on friendship, unspoken feelings, and personal bonds made it resonate in a meaningful way. It’s the kind of installment that reminds viewers why the characters’ relationships are just as engaging as the magic itself.
