English Dub Review: Lord of Mysteries “Coincidence”
Overview:
When too many coincidences appear, Klein Moretti discovers he may be caught in an elaborate scheme.
Our Take:
I also review To Be Hero X, which is a donghua as well, and I have to say the Chinese are stepping up their animation game. I love anime, and it will always be number one in my heart, but donghua is making a play for the crown, I think.
Klein Moretti is a person who has been isekai’d into a Victorian world and I don’t think it was our version of England, but I could be wrong. It’s an interesting idea because when characters are usually sent to another world, it’s often a fantasy world. There were some supernatural things at play, and it seemed like Klein was able to go into another realm to consult with other people. I liked the show, and I think it has some fresh and original ideas. I’ve been hearing about this show for a while, and I was glad I got to check it out.
The voice work was pretty solid even though they use English accents. When doing accents in anime it can be hit or miss. But I never felt like I was taken out of the show or anything because of it. I hate to talk up the same VA multiple times but Ian Sinclair does a killer accent and his character was great. Joshua Waters who voices Klein was the real star here for me. Not only did the accent not bother him but he brought a lot of nuance to the character that made me enjoy the episode even more.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
