English Dub Review: Flower and Asura “Big Sister and Little Brother”

Overview:

It’s a tight deadline, but the broadcasting club has the will to complete their submission to the original TV drama category.

Our Take:

I don’t know if the show is going to continue in this direction, but I love what happened with Hana this episode. Akiyama wrote a script for a drama that they’re going to perform that seems to be based on his personal experience. But the major headline is that it turns out that Hana might be a natural when it comes to acting. She was amazing in her first scene and continued to do amazing, and I think it would be a fun twist if the shy introverted girl becomes an amazing actress.

To help them with their story, they decide to go see a live performance by Shura Saionji. If you don’t remember, she is the former recitation prodigy who is now in high school, and she is now an actress! Perhaps this is foreshadowing the path Hana may go down, and I hope so. The group was able to get into the show because Akiyama’s sister was able to get them tickets. But we got to see a conversation between his sister and Saionji, and Saionji mentioned having a “sister” type, and the way it was presented made me think that she and Hana might have a past.
