English Dub Review: Flower and Asura “A First and a Friend”
Overview:
A spontaneous question causes Hana to freeze during her first broadcast. It’s one thing to stick to the script. But improvising? That’s a completely different story.
Our Take:
Hana got her first broadcast out of the way. One of the nice things about it going as bad as it did is the fact that it can’t go much worse the next time, right? Her next go at it was a bit better when she did the broadcast with Ryouko instead of Mizuki. Almost all of Mizuki’s broadcast was made up of ad-libs, which is hard for experienced performers, let alone a newbie. Ryouko threw some in as well, but her’s were a bit easier to work around.
Ryouko has a very fascinating character flaw. You might not view it as a flaw, but she loves old literature and loves talking about it. She loves talking about it so much that it almost seems like she gets aroused when she’s talking about it. That might weird some people out, but she seems to fit right in with the broadcasting club.
There’s nothing crazy going on plotwise at the moment; it’s a chill show about broadcasting. I look forward to seeing Hana grow as a club member, and I think she’s already doing better than she thought she would.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
