Spitting Image Returns…Kinda

Yesterday I was re-watching V for Vendetta and I couldn’t help but notice that the UK presented in that film is very much in line with where censorship is in the UK today and that movie was made nearly 20-years-ago based upon a graphic novel that was released in the late eighties. Anybody who doesn’t see the obvious comparisons between the BBC and the fictitious BTN is delusional.

Fortunately, the most dangerous UK animated property is making a return and is hopefully going to slap those censures around for the foreseeable future. That being the sort of return of Spitting Image and their new vodcast entitled “Spitting Image Presents: The Rest is Bull S*it” which just dropped it’s first episode today, on Independence Day, the the US holiday that signifies our independence from another extreme monarchy hell-bent on smothering peoples’ freedoms.

Synopsis:

A brand-new era of Spitting Image begins with The Rest is Bulls*!t… specially created, original short-form vodcast episodes, for all those wanting to laugh in the face of these anxiety inducing, squeaky bum times of global conflict, unhinged world leaders and megalomaniac Fin Tech bosses. The (latex) gloves are off and it’s not pulling any punches. This isn’t just satire. It’s a no holds barred up-to-the-minute assault on the world of politics, pop culture and media control.

From The White House to Windsor, from Putin to Paddington via Silicon Valley – it’s fearless, it’s as disgusting as the real people and it’s as hard-hitting as you remember – ideal entertainment for anyone with a 21st century attention span.
