Insight: Dentsu Report Reveals Anime is a Massive and Growing Opportunity for Brands in 2025
A newly released 2025 Global Research Report by dentsu highlights the significant and expanding opportunities that the anime industry presents for brands looking to connect with consumers through culture. This in-depth report, part of dentsu’s Entertainment Spotlight series, analyzes global consumer trends and nuances in fandom across various sports and entertainment IPs, with a specific focus on the burgeoning world of anime.
Drawing data collected between October 2024 and March 2025 from a survey of 8,600 consumers across 10 key markets (US, UK, Poland, Spain, France, Italy, Japan, China, Indonesia & Thailand), the report underscores the undeniable growth of anime on a global scale. This aligns with recent industry reports, including data from The Association of Japanese Animations (AJA), which noted the record-breaking growth of the global anime market, with non-Japan revenues surpassing domestic revenues. Projections further indicate substantial continued growth in the anime sector.
In terms of viewership, Netflix is the world’s leading resource for anime viewing with the only real competition being Prime Video and it’s increasing exclusives catalog along with Disney+/Hulu, however viewership also concludes that anime is no longer a niche interest but a mainstream global entertainment force, with significant fanbases across diverse countries.
"There are also other characters that come and go (also owned by the Warner Bros. Discovery conglomerate media company)."
Huh. Is that just referring to other characters from the show itself, or is this implying that the new season is going to have cameos from other WBD IPs
